PHOTOS: Country Day beats Jackson Northwest in Class B finals for 3rd title in 4 years, 13th overall


GRAND RAPIDS >> Birmingham Detroit Country Day won its 13th state championship on Saturday, and its third in four years, defeating Jackson Northwest 64-48 in the Class B title game at Calvin College's Van Noord Arena.
Jasmine Powell led Country Day (23-4) with 19 points, while transfer Maddie Novak had 13 to celebrate her first title. Adrian Folks added 12 points and seven rebounds, while Kaela Webb had 11 points, six steals and seven assists.
Sydney Shafer had a game-high 22 points for the Mounties (25-2).
